    What is a radio frequency generator?

    A radio frequency generator is designed to generate and send radio frequency energy. This RF energy is used for heating or drying electrically non-conductive products, utilized in many different thermal processing applications. The radio frequency generators' specifications are customized to meet the needs of a wide range of sectors and application.

     

    Radio-frequency generators are the core equipment of integrated radio-frequency heating or drying systems. INDMakina can offer both standalone radio-frequency generators or complete turn-key integrated radio-frequency systems.

    How does a Radio-Frequency Generator Work?

    A radio-frequency system consists of a RF generator which transforms electric power into radio-frequency waves and electrodes which transfers the energy to the electrically non-conductive (dielectric) product through the vibration and rotation of polarised molecules inside the material, induced by the quick polarity reversal of the electromagnetic field.

  • Advantages of Radio-Frequency Heating

    Homogenous heating: Radio-frequency technology heats the whole mass of the product directly and homogenously.

     

    Instantenous heat and rapid heating: Due to the dielectric loss properties of the materials, radio-frequency is able to generate the necessary heat very rapidly and uniformly.

     

    Selective heating: Due water's highly polar properties, radio-frequency can heat up wet materials very fast. Heating will occur in areas that is needed because water, unpolymerized synthetic resins and uncured latices are much more responsive to RF energy than most other dielectric materials.

     

    Moisture equilibration: Due to the selective heating properties of RF energy, water is removed faster from the wetter areas resulting in a uniform moisture content throughout the whole material.

     

    Efficiency and low energy consumption: As the water in the wet material evaporates fast, the energy used to heat or dry the material decreases. In this respect, radio-frequency generator is, in a sense, a very sensitive moisture meter. The RF generator's power output indicated by the current meter is a measure of the average moisture content of the load material.

     

    Suitable frequency: Our radio-frequency equipments can have different frequencies; 6.78MHz, 13.56MHz and 27.12MHz. Depending on the customer's specific application, INDMakina willl select the most suitable radio-frequency generator for best heating or drying results.
